THREE cousins will be pounding the pavements from the east to west coast in a running challenge to raise money for a leading cancer charity.
Scott and Darren Whatley and Kris Mclure will run the 156 miles from Bridlington to the Bond Hotel in Blackpool tackling at least the distance of a half marathon each day.
At its most gruelling the challenge will see them run 36 miles in one day.
The trio are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in honour of their close family and friends who have been touched by the disease.
Scott, aged 28, from Brinsworth, Kris, 30, from Wickersley, and Darren, 34, from Laughton Common, are all keen runners but have never completed anything of this magnitude before.
Hayley Jackson, Scott's girlfriend, said: "There's a lot of excitement at the sense of achievement they are going to feel when they reach the end.
"Scott first did a 10km run for Macmillan two years ago and then a half marathon last year. Both Kris and Darren are frequent runners - but none of them have ever done anything like this before."
The run will take six days from June 7 until June 12.
