A great family business...

Since 2004 the Bond Hotel, Blackpool has been owned and run by brother and sister proprietors, Shaun Atkinson and Jeanette Greenwood. The Bond Group is very much a family business, and other members of the family have now joined Shaun and Jeanette as the business develops.

Over the past four years the hotel had been renovated, redecorated, and expanded. However, demand is such that an ambitious redevelopment of the Bond Hotel Blackpool has been placed before the Local Council.

We've also added our luxury holiday homes at Marton Mere and the fabulous Bond Hotel St Annes  to the range of choices we offer all our guests.

Meet the Family

Shaun Atkinson is the co-proprietor of the family business, and the driving force behind the expansion and development of the Bond brand. Under his direction the number of guests visiting Bond properties has increased dramatically. An astute businessman, Shaun has masterminded the purchase of The Bond Hotel St Annes, and looks forward to welcoming many of our guests at this stylish new property. Shaun will often join guests in the bar in the evening, and takes a personal interest in the well being of all our visitors.

Jeanette Greenwood is the other proprietor of The Bond group, and is very much involved in the day to day running of both The Bond Hotels. She is also a part of the development team, and was central to the purchase of The Bond Hotel St Annes. Jeanette is also the driving force behind Barnet Lea Farm, our Donkey Sanctuary and petting centre near Pilling. Under her guidance the farm has grown from being just a rescue centre for unwanted donkeys, to a busy farm where guests can come and interact with a wide selection of animals - including our 2 new baby donkeys!

Rebecca Atkinson - Shaun's daughter - is now part of the management team at The Bond Hotel Blackpool, and takes much of the responsibility for the day to day running of the business. Rebecca was formerly a primary school teacher in the Isle of Man, and moved to Blackpool to join her family in early 2008. She now works alongside her fiancé, David Chalk, another popular figure at The Bond Hotel, Blackpool, where he is the Hotel photographer and Video-maker.

Graham Atkinson joins his brother and sister at The Bond Hotel Blackpool, where he now runs the very busy Bond Accessible Coaches Ltd (see Bond Accessible Coaches page). The transport division has grown hugely, and now has 6 mini-buses taking guests the length and breadth of the UK. Graham has responsibility for the fleet, and its drivers, and has seen the business flourish with an ever increasing range of trips and tours.

Ben Atkinson 25, is Rebecca's brother and has worked at The Bond Hotel Blackpool, for his father and aunt since 2004. Ben takes responsibility in the management team for accounts and purchasing, and also part of the driving team. Ben will be the first to admit that his first passion in life is for anything with four wheels, and owns a number of racing cars, sponsored by The Bond Hotel, which he regularly races around the UK.

Jack Atkinson aged 3, is the youngest member of The Bond team, and is a regular visitor to the Blackpool hotel, along with his father Ben. Ben has inherited his father's love of anything that looks like a car, and already started racing his own mini quad bike. While Jack is perhaps a little too young to work here yet, chances are that in 20 years time, he'll be running the hotel!
