Barnet Lea Farm
Set in beautiful countryside the sanctuary has been home to a number of donkeys, many of whom have come to the end of their working lives on places like Blackpool beach, and for whom the future was uncertain. Barnet Lea Farm, run by Bond Hotels proprietor Jeanette Greenwood, has given these animals a new home where they can spend the rest of their lives in comfort and safety. But the farm has become more than just a sanctuary. Over the last few years the farm has been refurbished to become an animal petting centre during the Summer months, and we welcome visitors from all of our holiday sites who want to come and get close to our very friendly animals. Alongside our donkeys there are now sheep, goats, cats, dogs and whoever else needs a good home! In 2008 the farm made local history with the birth of two baby donkeys to join our menagerie. The youngsters - Sophie and Pixie - are both doing well, and loving life in the Lancashire countryside!
